Dr. Lauren Miele Dasher
Dr. Lauren Miele Dasher is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated with honors, summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University. She then completed her dental degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. She completed her residency in periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning her certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. Her clinical research focused on ridge augmentation, also known as guided bone regeneration. Dr. Dasher serves as an adjunct associate professor in the UAB Department of Periodontology, and she is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Dasher is committed to life-long learning, as healthcare is continually evolving. She believes that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, and she strives to provide patients with gentle, personalized care. Dr. Dasher endeavors to help patients achieve healthy, happy smiles by delivering high quality periodontal and implant treatment.
She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the International Association for Dental Research. She is the Vice President of the 8th District Dental Society.
Dr. Lisa Franks
Dr. Lisa Shi Franks earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2019 and subsequently received her certification in Periodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry from UAB. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, received the International College of Dentists’ Humanitarian Award, and was elected by the Department of Periodontology as the 2019 Quintessence Award recipient. She also received the American Association of Women Dentists’ Colgate Research Award in 2018 for her work investigating the periodontal inflamed surface area changes in women with pregnancy gingivitis. Dr. Franks is an adjunct associate professor in the UAB Department of Periodontology, and she is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Franks is committed to bringing the best care and treatment options to patients in our Alabama community. She strives to encourage and educate patients about their periodontal conditions and viable treatment options.
She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, the Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the International Association for Dental Research. She currently serves as the President of the 8th District Dental Society.
